Accreditation at Cheyenne Radiology

Cheyenne Radiology was one of first 10 institutions in the United States to earn the prestigious Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) designation from the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Awarded to organizations that provide the highest levels of imaging quality, safety and care—as determined by the ACR’s extensive assessment process—DICOE designation represents an elite accomplishment in radiological medicine.

In order to receive DICOE designation, Cheyenne Radiology underwent a comprehensive assessment process that evaluated the organization on the criteria of quality, safety, procedure and personnel—and was administered by an ACR survey team consisting of a Radiologist, a medical physicist and the assistant director of the DICOE program.

Qualifying organizations also must be ACR accredited in all modalities for which ACR accreditation is offered, and they must maintain Image Gently and Image Wisely pledges—a pair of national programs that advocate for using the lowest radiation doses possible in the imaging of children and for radiation safety in adult medical imaging.

The DICOE designation remains effective for the next three years and ultimately is representative of Cheyenne Radiology’s lasting commitment to providing the most comprehensive and accurate care possible.

Reaching New Levels of Excellence for Women

As a joint venture between Cheyenne Radiology and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, the Cheyenne Women’s Imaging Pavilion is striving to achieve another landmark accreditation in our community: Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE). This designation by the American College of Radiology recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).

By offering the highest quality of healthcare in our community to more women than ever, we’re ensuring our friends and loved ones can live long, healthy lives.
