BCA Month is Over, But the Fight Continues
Breast Cancer Awareness Month may be over, but the fight against cancer shouldn’t go into remission during the rest of the year.
The Cheyenne Women’s Imaging Pavilion is proud to support the WY Breast Cancer Initiative all year long. We believe that we are stronger together and when health organizations join together to move healthcare forward in Wyoming, everyone benefits.
What does the WBCI do? And why does the Cheyenne Women’s Imaging Pavilion support it?
Founded last February, the WY Breast Cancer Initiative is focused on building on previous efforts in Wyoming to raise awareness and educated Wyoming residents about breast cancer.
Since their foundation, the WBCI has been hitting the ground running. Their efforts are focused on breast health education, financially assisting breast cancer screenings, facilitating patient navigation and promoting survivor recognition. Their mission and values are very close to our hearts at the Cheyenne Women’s Imaging Pavilion, which makes the WBCI an ideal organization for us to support.
What has the WBCI done so far?
In August we sponsored the WBCI’s first Pink Ribbon Run, a 5K run/walk event that was a continuation of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Proceeds were granted to Wyoming breast health programs. Most importantly, 100% of funds raised by the Initiative stay in-state.
In October the WBCI and the University of Wyoming joined forces for a UW Football “Pink” Game, which was an impressive success.
What can I do to help WBCI?
We encourage everyone to donate to the WBCI or volunteer your time to this exceptional cause.
We look forward to seeing how we all move women’s healthcare forward in Wyoming in 2017.
